One way I make some extra cash is with Swagbucks. It's free to get an account and they give you Swagbucks (SB) just for signing up. It's an online rewards program that gives members virtual currency for participating in their offers.
Swagbucks can be traded for free merchandise, gift cards, or transferred to your PayPal account. I personally save mine until I have $50 and then I transfer it to PayPal.
Some people are confused as to how much real bucks Swagbucks are worth. To clarify, it is between 1-2 cents.
Let me explain. This is just an example. I can get a $5 Amazon gift card for 450 SB. I can get a $25 PayPal transfer for 2500. So see, it all really depends on the reward you are selecting, but generally each buck is worth one cent.
There are different ways to earn Swagbucks, but I won't list them all. These are the most common ways.
One way I've earned the most Swagbucks is through completing surveys. Some of those are worth a couple of bucks and I have received sample products and full sized products from companies for participating.
My favorite part is the discover content, where I can print coupons and earn Swagbucks after using the coupon. You can watch videos, and nCrave material, and much more.
Members can earn from the email offers--the Swagbucks inbox and not your own personal email.
You can participate in the sweepstakes, but I skip this part because I don't like to take chances.
They also have an "Hourly Random Winner" where they pick a random person to win and post it to the blog. They have rewarded as many as 1000 SB that I have seen.
You can trade-in unwanted video games and consoles or books for Swagbucks. Myself, I usually give these to Salvation Army and have never tried this so I'm not sure if it's worth it or not. If anyone has any thoughts on the trade-in's please share with us.
You can earn from referrals, but so far I haven't participated in this until now and so far I do not have any signups. If you click on any of the green links in this post and join Swagbucks using my referral code/links, I should make 10% of whatever you earn and at no cost to you.
For instance, if you earn 100 Swagbucks, I would get 10 Swagbucks just because I referred you, but they do not take anything from you--you will keep your 100 Swagbucks and they give me 10 just as a way to thank me for referring you.
To add the cherry on top, Swagbucks usually sends members Swagbucks for their birthdays, too.
